THE CHALLENGE

The Customs website is a vital source of information for both businesses and the public looking for information on any cross-border activity such as importing, exporting and immigration. Customs had identified that the website is a mission-critical component of their operation and vital to the delivery of their service.

The existing content management system had become inflexible to Customs' needs and the navigation and search functionality required an upgrade. Customs needed a solution that improved the user experience and lifted the CMS functionality. It was also important that the CMS be leveraged for a new intranet.

THE SOLUTION

Customer research formed the foundation for Provoke's solution to ensure the design of the new site was optimized for user experience. This analysis informed a simplified navigation and the addition of effective search to ensure relevant information could be found quickly and easily.

The SharePoint platform was then leveraged in development of a new intranet. Much like the website, increased user satisfaction was the imperative while improved workflow via Nintex saw efficiencies gained in their business processes. Utilizing SharePoint for both solutions significantly reduced costs for Customs.
